What is Radiofrequency Technology?

Radiofrequency has been used in medical and aesthetic treatments for years. The term “Radiofrequency technology” was derived based on its function of sending radio wave-like electrical frequencies to target the collagen within deep layers of the skin. When the heat of radiofrequency waves (60 degrees Celsius) is sent to the dermis under the top layers of the skin, the heat from these waves reenergizes the old collagen, causing the tightening of the tissues and revitalization of the skin.

How Does the Radiofrequency and Micro Needling Work?

Microneedles combined with radio frequency, two of the newest and most successful skin rejuvenation systems, create an enhanced result in both skin value and texture. Micro needles create minuscule perforations in the skin. When the needles have passed through the skin, the energy from the radiofrequency is released under the skin, allowing the stimulation of new collagen production. This process targets the skin’s textural irregularities while adding firmness and elasticity.

Is Micro Needling With RF Painful?

No. Before the procedure, a topical numbing cream will be applied. Most people report little or no pain. There is the possibility there might be some discomfort; this discomfort level is comparable to the mild feeling of being bitten by an insect.

Following the treatment, patients might experience some minor swelling, and the skin might be sensitive for a few days following the procedure. However, instructions for addressing mild discomfort will be provided, and any side effects should go away quickly.

Your Consultation

Before patients can get RF MicroNeedling treatments, they would need to schedule a consultation first. During the consultation, patients will need to answer questions about their health and medical history. Patients can also get details about what the treatments will involve and how they can prepare for them.

Patients can also ask questions of their own and have any concerns addressed. Discussions about the cost and the recommended number of treatments will take place, as well.

What Happens During the Treatment?

Patients should come to this procedure without makeup. Dr. Sinha will walk you through the process and answer any questions before starting the treatment. First, your face will be gently cleansed and a topical numbing cream will be applied. You will have the chance to relax as the cream takes hold. Then, depending upon the areas you have selected to improve, the actual treatment process starts which takes between 30 and 45 minutes.

Who are good candidates for this process?

If you would like to correct any of these traits, you might be an excellent candidate.

  • Stretch marks
  • Aging skin that needs refreshing
  • Scaring, particularly those caused by acme
  • Sun damage on the face, hands and décolleté
  • Fine lines and deep wrinkles
  • Correction of pigmentation.

The patient must have realistic expectations and should also be in good health. Patients who are still healing from accidents or recent surgical procedures must wait until all healing has taken place before proceeding. Drinking or smoking too much might have detrimental effects on the results of the procedure.

How many treatments are needed?

This depends upon the needs of the candidate. On average 2-4 treatments are used, where there are typically 2-6 weeks between each treatment. The number of treatments needed will be based on the type and severity of the issues being treated, as well.

What do I need to do after my office treatment?

Be kind to your skin! Inflammation of the skin is temporary and will be minimized in a few hours. Remember not to exfoliate for at least one week. Stay away from saunas, heavy workouts, swimming in chlorinated water, and hot showers.

How Much Does RF Microneedling Cost?

The cost for RF Microneedling will depend on several factors. The number of sessions will influence the final price, as will the severity of the cosmetic issues being addressed.

RF Microneedling Aftercare

Following successful treatment, patients can return to their previous activities right away. There are no lengthy recovery periods involved.
